Batman ~ The Dark Knight Posted by Laura Iriarte

Batman! dada dada dada dada dada! Batman!

Okay, I went, I saw, I sat for three hours. The movie was intense, very dark and filled with action.

“There’s no way Heath Ledger couldn’t have stolen the show. Untimely deaths have a way of doing that.” ~abcnews.go.com.

Heath Ledger is unrecognizable as The Joker. If I didn’t know it was him, I would never have guessed. No trace of the Heath I adored in “10 Things I Hate About You” there. He did an amazing job, he channelled crazy! I really won’t be surprised if he wins the Oscar. What a sad way to win though, still it will be nice for his daughter to see and know that he was recognized and appreciated by his industry.

Christian Bale has pretty teeth and hot lips! He did a superb job bringing the comic-book super hero character darkly to life.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was excellent as well! She was quite elegant really.

The rest of the star studded cast included Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. The movie was directed by Christopher Nolan.

My only disappointment was not to feel more emotion during the movie. I expected to feel that from the Batman character, especially when he lost a loved one, and I didn’t.

I’m really more of a romantic comedy girl, but overall – I jumped, I gasped, I hid my eyes, I enjoyed it.

Reblog this post

On July 15, 2008 I attended Mashable.com’s SummerMash SF.  It was a wonderful event and while there I was interviewed by Stickam.com about my blog and upcoming website.

The blog is now in the process of moving from http://lauralovesart.wordpress.com to this location, http://lauralovesart.com.

The website was supposed to be done, but my developer is running behind and it should be any day, any hour at this point.  I will definitely be shouting it from the rooftops when it is completed!
