What I Saw Today~ 9/24/08 Posted by Laura Iriarte

Yes, I saw the owl again, but only briefly, and he was asleep.  Someone was sitting in my favorite table already when I got to Vezer today, so I didn’t have the vantage point to study him.

Took a pretty picture of the vines in the morning light as I was driving to work this morning.

Also above is the front of the little country school I’ve been working at.  Suisun Valley School.

Next to the school there is a home.  I took some pics of their geese, treehouse and old chicken coop.

The rest of my photos can be found on my flickr stream at:

Hope you enjoy the pics!  :)

What I saw today ~ 9/23/08 Posted by Laura Iriarte

I knew there was an owl that lived in the tree, I’ve only seen him once.  I look up to check and see if he’s there every day when I come to the magical garden to eat my picnic lunch.  I looked today.  Nothing.  So I sat down and started eating, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a movement.  I looked up in the tree, and saw it!  The owl!  He was in a different area of the tree.  I looked at him, he looked at me.  I took pics of him.  For you.

What I Saw Today~ 9/12/08 Posted by Laura Iriarte

Okay I’m posting this two days after I saw this.

This was what I saw on Friday as I had lunch and as I drove out of the Suisun Valley back to Fairfield, where I live.

I have a picnic lunch everyday at Vezer Family Vineyard.  Vezer is a combination of a deli and barista on one side and a wine tasting room on the other, and the most incredibly beautiful garden and picnic area in the back.  I generally bring my own lunch, but once a week at least I buy something there-to pay for the privilege of eating in such beautiful surroundings!

The metal sculptures are around the corner from Vezer, on Mankas Corner proper.

The grape vines are growing all over the place now in the Suisun Valley, with more popping up all the time!  The pictures above were taken at various grape fields along Mankas Corner Road.

You can click on any of the pics above to enlarge them or they can be viewed on my flickr photostream as well at :

I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed being there!
