I’ve been considering adding a watermark to my photography posted online. I want to keep it small and unobtrusive, but to help link my photo’s back to me.
I’ve resisted this for awhile, even though quite a few of my photographer friends are using them, because I feel they look a little tacky. Now I’m beginning to change my tune.
As a photographer specializing in event photography, often my photos are used by others in everything from profile pics to personal or business websites. Generally I am flattered and honored (especially if they ask nicely first) but it’s great to at least be given credit.
A watermark, probably lauralovesart.com, on the lower corner would ensure all photos are identified as mine and possibly bring more traffic to my website and business to me. I’m planning to use www.easysector.com’s Batch Photo Watermarker.
I’m going to give it a try. If you have any feedback pro or con, I’d love to hear from you!
September 10, 2010 – It was a night to remember at the JETLAG Celebration produced by Trendy Lime and Michael Nader – celebrating Trendy Lime’s first anniversary!
There was a long line to get in, but it was worth it!
All the beautiful jet-set crowd was out to celebrate at Butterfly Restaurant on the San Francisco wharf!
Chef Robert Lam, owner of Butterfly, provided gourmet appetizers, which sadly I missed out on. DJ Nader and DJ Michelle Musial kept the party dancing through the night with dance beats.
I had a wonderful time taking pics of all the action. Great watching the models go from hair and makeup to the runway! An adorable puppy even made his runway debut!
Models getting ready!
The models wowed the crowd as they strutted down the runway in fashions by designers ANYA, RockChiq, and SashaMaksVintage as photographers, including me, flashed away!
A pleasure to run into Leslie Lum of Leslie Lum Marketing as well, and to finally meet Alison Messinger, the woman behind popular fashion blog, Eclectic A La Mode.
It’s always fun to see Liana Burtsava, the driving force behind Trendy Lime and JETLAG. She runs it all effortlessly while looking calm and chic.
Trendy Lime produces upscale events throughout the year. Connect with them on Facebook or their website to be updated on upcoming events.
What takes iSweep Panoramic photos? What has 10.2 Mega pixels, a 25 mm wide-angle lens, 3.5″ Xtra Fine LCD and Full HD movie capabilities? The Sony Cyber-Shot – that’s what!
Where can you get it you ask? Well, you could get it here.
Orrr…you could win one from ME! I am lucky enough to have a friend, Sukhjit, who works for Sony and was instrumental in letting me provide this give-a-way for you.
Those of you who know me, know I love to take pictures and love cameras, and this is hard for me to part with to be honest. I *so* want to open the box…but I won’t. Because, this camera is going to a very special person. Someone who will love it and cherish it and use it! Is it going to be you?
Taylor Swift herself appears in the new Sony commercials promoting the Sony Cyber-Shot! Here it is below if you haven’t seen them yet!
First a little behind the scenes!
Now for the commercial!
I just love Taylor Swift, and so does my daughter, Alexandra. Neither of us are traditional fans of country music, but her songs and sincerity really speaks to our hearts.
I’ve thought long and hard and well, you’re going to have to impress me with your comments…this baby retails at $399.00! So, what I would love to hear is:
1. What is your favorite Taylor Swift song?
2. Why do you like it?
Optionally you may karaoke the song! I may give extra points! (Doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad, as long as you’re sincere!) To post a karaoke song you will need to post the video on another site (youtube, vimeo, viddler, stickcam, etc) and then post the link to the video in the comment section.
The contest will run for one week, from Monday, July 5, 2010 through Sunday, July 11, 2010. It will end at midnight, Pacific standard time on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Winner will be chosen at my discretion based on their comment. The prize will be mailed or delivered to the winner within two weeks.
This should be fun!
UPDATE: A winner has been chosen! It was truly a hard choice for me as some of the comments were quite heartfelt, but…drumroll please! Congratulations to Brianna Layfield! I felt Brianna went above and beyond, being the only person to actually step up to the karaoke challenge! Also, Brianna not only sang, she also played the song acoustically! Congratulations again Brianna! Love your pink guitar!
